Syrian Authorities Find More Weapons, Fake Passports in Homs

Damascus, Mar 7 (Prensa Latina) The Syrian authorities that ensure the restoration of citizens' peace in Homs found new caches of military supplies, computers, modern communication devices and transmission of signals used by armed groups.

Among the weapons seized in Baba Amr and two other neighborhoods in that central city, as well as in other towns of the province, there are several types of machine guns, German rifles for snipers, anti-tank rocket launchers, land mines, night-vision goggles and masks.

There were also grenades, pistols, silencers, various types of explosive devices with detonators, large amounts of ammunition, military uniforms and dynamite, according to images broadcast on Syrian TV.

Authorities claimed that those supplies were brought into the country, an accusation that was corroborated by intelligence services from Damascus' friendly countries, across the border especially from Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq, in that order. Read More
