Parties, crashes and carjacking keep police busy in Western Australia

Two people have been killed on WA roads and another two have been seriously injured in a busy night for Perth police.

A 33-year-old man was killed when his car hit a tree in the Bunbury suburb of Usher at 10:00pm (WDST).

A 25-year-old woman died in another crash on Stock Rd in Yangebup about 11:00pm.

Her 23-year-old male passenger was seriously injured and is in Royal Perth Hospital.

Another man was seriously injured after a separate crash in Gidgegannup at 11:00pm.

He was taken by rescue helicopter to Royal Perth Hospital.

Police were also called to control hundreds of partygoers at events held across Perth.

Officers had bottles hurled at them and police dogs and mounted officers were sent in to control the crowds.

And a Perth man has had his car stolen at knifepoint in the eastern suburb of Kiara.

Police say a group of four men confronted the driver when the car was stopped at traffic lights around 2:00am.
